Suzanne capped her 20 year career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s NY and London offices as a Managing Director and Global Head of ESG Capital Markets & Advisory. Earlier in her career, Suzanne also acted as Head of Structured Notes and as an interest rate derivatives marketer.
One of two original co-authors of the Green Bond Principles, Suzanne was instrumental in the development of the Green Bond and Social Bond market. Starting in 2011, when her team led the first retail Green Bond, she helped to grow the market substantially by securing mandates from a broad range of multinational entities, leading Bank of America Merrill Lynch to their number one league table position for at least three consecutive years. Suzanne also helped to create one of the first Green Bond indices and to introduce the now globally recognised Green Bond Principles (GBP) to ICMA, where she served on the GBP Executive Committee and, later, the Board of ICMA, for several years. In 2015, she was awarded Financial News’ 2015 Editor’s Choice Award for her efforts and, in 2014, was chosen as a Bloomberg New Energy Finance "Finance Resilience" Finalist for her ambitions to "mainstream Green Bonds." Beyond Green Bonds, Suzanne regularly advised CFO’s and treasury teams of multinational entities on broader ESG topics, including the impact of these risks on an entity’s equity valuation and credit ratings. She also lent her expertise to European Parliament and Council Members developing financial legislation related to ESG topics.
Suzanne holds a Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study Mathematics at the University of Melbourne, Australia.
